Starting a business with your surfing buddies can be the ultimate ride.

Five years ago a few friends with a shared passion for surfing got together to turn their common perspective into something much more. First came the Wave Table, a surfboard-topped, wave table based coffee table creation. Then the Wax Buddy, a new ergonomic tool to solve an age-old problem, scraping off dirty old board wax. With a couple of inventions under their board shorts, they decided to turn their burgeoning idea factory into a bona fide brick-and-mortar business, Endless Wave Surf Shop. Located on Bellevue Avenue, the surf shop shares a street address with Newport's most famous mansions, but its state of mind couldn't be further. They're still living the dream . . . it's just a lot more sandy than stuffy.
